Jacksonville’s Skyway set to resume operations Wednesday; masks required on all JTA vehicles

The Jacksonville Skyway will be back in action starting tomorrow with plenty of safety precautions in place, according to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.

JTA says the hours will be Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., but you can also ride the Skyway from 7 to 11 p.m. this Saturday for the Fourth of July.

All Skyway stations will require proper social distancing on the platforms and while on board, and people will have to wear a mask while riding. JTA says that mask requirement goes for all JTA vehicles and facilities, in accordance with new City of Jacksonville policy.

If you don’t have a mask, JTA says staff will be handing out a limited number each day at the Central, Hemming and Kings Avenue stations.

In addition to all the same stops the Skyway has visited in the past, JTA says it will serve the LaVilla/Convention Center stop for the first time since construction on the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla started a few years ago.
