Let’s be honest Jags fans, we haven’t had much to cheer about on the field lately - but there’s one area where we consistently dominate, one arena where we can proudly plant our teal and black flag: putting down a big plate of bad decisions on Super Bowl Sunday!
According to a report from NJ.bet, analyzed by the folks at the Austin Statesman, Jacksonville Jaguars fans are among the top ten calorie consumers in the entire NFL during the Super Bowl. We’re talking an average of 3,080 calories per person. That’s enough to fuel Travis Etienne through 2 practices.
However, we’re far from the worst offenders on the list, we’re number 10. That top spot is reserved for those fans out in Houston. When they say “Everything’s bigger in Texas” this Sunday, Texans’ fans will be talking about the pile of wing bones on their plate.
Here’s how the top 10 shakes out:
- Houston Texans: 3,548 calories
- Dallas Cowboys: 3,442 calories
- Chicago Bears: 3,356 calories
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3,350 calories
- New York Jets: 3,332 calories
- Tennessee Titans: 3,308 calories
- Baltimore Ravens: 3,149 calories
- New York Giants: 3,112 calories
- Buffalo Bills: 3,097 calories
- Jacksonville Jaguars: 3,080 calories
On second glance, none of the cities on this list are shocking. What person has been to Texas and NOT indulged on some BBQ, or Italian food in New York, or crab cakes in Baltimore, or Anchor Bar wings in Buffalo
(who are we kidding, nobody actually chooses to travel to Buffalo 😂)?
Of course, all this culinary carnage comes with a price. The report also found that a significant chunk of fans – 38% – feel guilty about their Super Bowl eating habits. And even more, a full 45%, regret their choices the next day. But hey, that’s what antacids and sweatpants are for, right?

So, while we may not be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy anytime soon, Jaguars fans can take pride in our ability to consume truly heroic amounts of food on Super Bowl Sunday. We’re champions of the buffet, masters of the munchies, and kings and queens of the calorie count.
DUUUVAL!
Now pass the wings...
