9/18 - JMN IN-DEPTH - "WE CARD" Responsible Retailer Program

Doug Anderson is the President of We Card, a national nonprofit, that trains retail owners and employees to spot both underage buyers and adults purchasing age-restricted tobacco, vape, or nicotine products on a minor's behalf. They have thousands of classroom sessions in all 50 states. Federal law prohibits anyone under 21 from buying tobacco, vape or nicotine pouch products, and retailers check IDs to enforce it. But minors most often report getting these products another way, by getting someone of age to buy or hand them over. It's called social sourcing. Visit WECARD.ORG for more information.
