CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook is warning residents of two ongoing scams.

According to a social media post, scammers are calling residents and saying they have a warrant.
The names of real deputies and command staff are being used.

Sheriff Cook wants to remind people the Clay County Sheriff’s Office will never call and say you have a warrant that needs to be paid.
Another scam the sheriff posted about is one where people get a threatening letter. The scammer claims to have the person’s internet history and demands payment to not expose it.
The sheriff said to ignore the scam and make sure to talk to your kids about it too.
