UPDATE: Deputy-involved shooting shuts down U.S. 1 at International Golf Parkway in St. Johns County

Deputies shoot armed suspect in St. Johns County, sheriff's office says The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded Tuesday to a deputy-involved shooting at U.S. 1 and International Golf Parkway.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 9:15 PM: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office announced on their Facebook page that the suspect was pronounced dead a short time after he was air-lifted to a local hospital.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said it is responding to a deputy-involved shooting at U.S. 1 and International Golf Parkway.

The shooting happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday and involved an armed suspect, SJSO said. That suspect was taken to a local hospital.

Deputy-involved shooting at U.S. 1 and International Golf Parkway

U.S. 1 northbound and southbound are closed just south of International Golf Parkway.

SJSO said “there is no threat to the public.”
