MACCLENNY, Fla. — A 19-year-old remains in the hospital Friday after being shot Thursday night in Macclenny, according to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
Two people were injured in the shooting near South Boulevard and 9th Street - the other a 14-year-old boy.
Action News Jax reporter Nicholas Brooks found visible evidence of gunfire at two neighboring homes. One house had five bullet hole markers outside; the adjacent house had two.

“The bullets were like bang bang bang,” one homeowner told Brooks. She said she was in bed at the time of the shooting and asked to remain anonymous due to safety concerns.
“I jumped up. Then I heard five more shots,” she added.
Deputies responded to reports of shots fired Thursday night. The homeowner said bullets hit several parts of her house, including the walls and bathroom.
“My stove was cracking. It bust all over my house. The bullets hit the walls, the bathroom, broke my crockpot, microwave. I was so scared,” she recalled.
She wasn’t alone during the incident.
“Me and my son — the bullets was left in his bed. Thank God that we all survived,” she said.
Authorities confirmed the 14-year-old boy was treated at the hospital and later released. The 19-year-old remains in critical condition.
Two individuals have been detained in connection to the shooting, according to BCSO, and two others are currently wanted for questioning.
