FHP said Friday afternoon that the “hit and run vehicle has been located. No arrests at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.”
One woman who lives along Chester Road told Action News Jax the street is poorly lit at night, and speeding is a frequent issue.
“Everybody’s calling for more sidewalks, street lights,” said Mary Florkiewicz, who lives nearby. “Yes, it does get dark.”

Florkiewicz shared a Ring camera video that captured flashing emergency lights in the distance around the time of the crash.
“I just think it’s unfortunate that the person that hit her didn’t stop,” she said. “That’s the issue. Do the right thing. Step up. Accidents happen.”
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the FHP at 904-695-4115 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
